Hello Parents/Guardians,
I am delighted to be your child’s Instructional Assistant Teacher, working side by side with Angela and Laura. This is my second year at MNS, previously in a 1st grade ICT classroom.
I recently completed my Master’s Degree at Hunter College and am dually certified in General and Special Education. I also have my Bachelors Degree in Speech and Theatre Performance from Wagner College and spent many years touring the country, performing in Professional Children’s Theater. I hope to incorporate the Arts into our 3rd grade classroom and if applicable, weave it into the curriculum.
Thank you in advance for allowing me the opportunity to teach your child. Along with Laura and Angela, I am dedicated to supporting our students to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally within our inclusive classroom. Third grade is a big year for students and my wish is for them to gain even more independence, pride, and initiative in their own learning journey. I look forward to a wonderful productive year with your child!
Sincerely,
Lauryl Trenholme-Pihl

Dear Families,
Welcome to the third grade! We hope you all had a wonderfully restful summer vacation and are ready for an exciting year in the 3rd grade. We are very enthusiastic about the upcoming year with all of the opportunities and possibilities it presents to all of us. We look forward to teaching, learning and growing with each and every one of you.
We know that the beginning of the year brings a pile of paperwork. We’ve tried to limit this by creating an online family questionnaire and contact information sheet. They can be found on here on our class website (see the two buttons above). If you would prefer to fill out a paper copy please send an email or a note in with your child and we will gladly send hard copies home.
Our Specials schedule currently includes Computers, Art, Music, P.E,, Wingspan, Chess and Science.
Our schedule is as follows :
Monday ~ P.E. and Chess
Tuesday ~ Computers
Wednesday ~ Music
Thursday ~ Science
Friday ~ Art and Wingspan
Arrival / Dismissal :
We look forward to meeting all of you at Curriculum Night on Monday, September 17th. If you have any questions or comments regarding the curriculum or goals for this year please feel free to contact us. Our email address is [email protected]. We are looking forward to learning with you and your child this year.
Here’s to a great year!
